Summer 2015

Can't believe it's July already. I guess that means that it's finally time that we get some summer weather around here. It's nice to wake up in the morning and actually see some sunshine instead of cold & rainy weather. June wasn't very summery. It was mostly rain-rain-go-away. Lots of thunderstorms & just very cold in general. For June. But finally the official first day of summer (the summer solstice) has came & went & now it's time to hit the beach & go to all of the summer concerts!
I love summer but for me it's also kind of stressful because I feel like if I don't do something every day then I'm wasting my summer. I'm always sitting at home & really frustrated because if i'm not outside, i'm not taking advantage of the beautiful weather! But I don't really like going outside because I never have anything to do anyway. Since I got my license, I never ride my bike anymore. What am I gonna do instead? Go for a run? Yeah right.
So hopefully I can get a couple beach days in this summer. I love laying out & catching the rays of the sun & just soaking up summer-- Literally! Sure summer comes with bad parts- mosquito bites & sunburn. Bugs Bugs Bugs. But besides for those things, everything else is great! Summer is most definitely my favorite season. & not just because I was born in the summer but also because there is always something to do & something going on. There are all kinds of festivals & concerts, parties & gatherings. So it's just a great time of year.
Of course there are days when I actually believe that it's TOO hot. (But there really is no such thing when you live anywhere remotely close to Buffalo) But on those days, I just sit inside & sulk in the air conditioning. What would we do without the wonderful A/C? Sweat to death. That's what.
So far, I feel that my summer has been pretty crappy. But it's only just the beginning. I have two more months before i'm back at school. (PLEASE DONT MAKE ME GO BACK!)
& in those two months, I plan to do a lot & live up the summer days & summer nights. I want to make memories, have fun with my friends & family & generally not worry about anything. Because Summer is for relaxing & enjoying time with your loved ones. Don't worry, be happy. Basically the summer motto. It's crazy to think that I have another birthday coming up at the end of this month. I've been getting so many birthday coupons and things in the mail. (STOP MAKING ME FEEL OLD!)
I don't know about you, but I don't wanna turn 22.
One year closer to 30. Greaaaaaaatttttt.
...But instead of acting pissed off because I am one year closer to death, I'm going to be happy that I lived another year. & It was a great one. I turned 21 & It wasn't really as great as I thought it would be. But life goes on & we get older. The world doesn't stop turning for anyone.
So with all of that said, HAGS!!!!!!!!
(it's an old middle school saying that kids write in yearbooks) meaning: have a great summer. So go ahead & do that.

I can't wait to actually be tan, I really need some color.
So anyway if you are looking for some things to do this summer, there is a lot going on. Here is a list of a couple things that are coming up in the 716-area.

-Old Home days (July 7-10)
-The Taste of Buffalo (July 11th)
-Vans Warped tour (July 15)
-Canal Fest of the Tonawondas (July 19-26)
-Erie County Fair (August 12-23)

Also Artpark in Lewiston has officially started their annual Tuesdays in the Park summer concert series. So those are a lot of fun for the whole family.

Here is a cute summer picture that I just set as my desktop background:
