Mass Market Designer collabs

Most designers have a few different lines. They have a high end line, a contemporary line & also a lower end more affordable line. Well, as i've seen recently several designer have been looking to hop onto the mass market train. They've seen how consumers respond to their prices for their designs & have realized that the the masses can't afford their designs so they don't buy them. When a designer creates a mass market line- a lot of people sometimes react negatively. A lot of people were very dissapointed to hear that Lily Pulitzer was doing a collaboration with Target. People think that when a designer line comes to mass market it somehow reduces the worth of the line or the designer. That the designs are somehow not wanted as much as they would be if the prices were higher..

Well I disagree. I think that designers like Victoria Beckham and Lily Pulitzer are taking a step in the right direction. So many people are actually very excited for designer collections to become available to the masses. They are still the same designs just at more affordable price points. H&M is creating clothing in collaboration with Balmain Paris. A lot of people are highly anticipating this collection after Balmain basically went mainstream after Kimye appeared in the ads in Vogue.

A lot of people probably wouldn't have ever known Balmain before Kim Kardashian or Kanye wore it. I have been following Target on twitter & I have seen the new collections that they are going to be introducing & I think that it's very exciting. I've always loved Target but now that designer lines are going to be more affordable, I think that they will bring in a lot more customers.

Here are some articles I found on the mass market collaborations that designers are looking to create:

Target's latest designer collaboration is with the accessory designer Eddie Borgo. His accessory designs are very unique and I personally am looking forward to shopping his collection when it launches at Target. So keep an eye out for that. You can browse through some of his designs on his instagram account @Eddieborgo or on his website http://www.eddieborgo.com

So whether you think that designers are making a good move or not- their new collections will be released soon. H&M & Target have catered to the masses so it only makes sense that they offer something new to their customers. Designer fashion at affordable prices.
& on the 8th day, god said "Let there be fashion for all".
..That's my 2 cents thanks for reading (:
