Contemplating my future..

I know several people question my career goals as I go to school for Fashion. However, I know that I can achieve anything that I work hard for. I can go several different ways with my future career. Ultimately I want to design. Whether it be clothing, furniture, jewelry, or anything that can be designed. I am creative & I have been all my life. If I don't work somewhere where I am not designing in any way, I know I won't be happy. I have a list of several different things that I would love to do (as a backup plan) if I don't ultimately become a designer or work under a designer:
Visual Merchandising
Fashion Buyer
Fashion Illustrator
Fashion Blogger
Fashion Stylist
Fashion editor (magazine)
Creative Director
Product Development

If none of the above, I would also be interested in starting a Promotional Modeling or a Petite modeling agency in or near Buffalo, NY. There just aren't enough agencies like those in the area & I think that there should be more of them. Lots of girls in the area express an interest in modeling and aren't the typical model height but still have the potential to get work doing commercials or print work.
I haven't done an internship yet, but I am looking to do one soon. It's just hard to find anywhere in Buffalo that you can do an internship as a Fashion Design major. If I lived in or near NYC, it would be a lot easier. So looking forward, I hope to find somewhere I can intern & hopefully lock down a future job opportunity for when I come out of college with my degree. I have always worked hard in my classes & I am not going to give up now. I can't believe that I only have one more year left of school until I receive my undergraduate degree. College is stressful and a lot of work, but I know it will be worth it when I have my diploma in hand.
So looking forward, I believe that I will have a career in the industry. I have been involved in Freelance modeling for about a year now, and I have seen how people in the Fashion industry are. Nobody will just allow you to be in their fashion show, unless you show up to the casting & show them what you got. Just like in the real world, when you want a career you have to set up an interview and be on time to show that you're reliable & that you deserve the job position that you are hoping for.
Nothing is just handed to you & I don't expect that. So I'm going to continue to persevere & work hard to earn myself a career in the Fashion Industry. It's my passion & it's the one thing I want more than anything in order for me to have a job that I love.
