What is it that is so alluring about travel? Maybe it's the discovery of a new place, the feeling of being somewhere completely unknown to you & having that ability to fully explore it. Maybe it's the fact that you can reinvent yourself & nobody will know, or be like a chameleon & try to blend in with the locals. Maybe it's something that you want to cross of your bucket list, or an extreme desire to visit the place where your roots & ancestry lie.
For me, it's that feeling of the unknown. I love anything new and exciting, becoming a part of something I never knew existed. I haven't gone anywhere farther east than the east coast in the US & I haven't been farther west than Pennsylvania. So I still have a lot left to discover. Sad as it is, I have only been to a handful of the 50 states. The West coast is essentially non-existent to me. That's why I want to visit California so badly. It's new and exciting. It's where all of the celebrities reside & it is exploding with creativity & good vibes. Life on the west coast just seems to be easier & more laid back whereas on our coast, we seem to take things too seriously & are always thinking about work & other responsibilities.
I think it's important that we all take the time to travel. Once a year, to go somewhere we've never been before. Just for that experience & the feeling of being somewhere new. You can try new things & see new places. It's so refreshing to immerse yourself in a new culture. Day in & day out we do the same things, & we aren't exposed to much in our small towns. Traveling may be expensive, but it ends up being worth it because experiences & memories stay with us forever. They are the stories we will tell to our children & our grandchildren because they are memories that we will never forget. Some people even choose to get married in foreign places because they want that seclusion from everyone. They want to be married somewhere new & exciting as a way of showing that their relationship together will be the same. Also some people prefer smaller wedding services because it is more intimate & more cost effective.
What i want to do is this: make a list of 5 places that I want to go in the world & make sure that I go to all 5 of those places. I know right now that some places I want to go are: California, Milan, Japan, Texas & Hawaii. Ok so three of the five are states in the US but they are still new and exciting to me. I may update this list when I find out about other places I want to go instead, but for now that's my list.
What are some places that you've always wanted to go? & why do you want to go there? If you're like me, you like to try & do new things so travel can be something that is really fun and interesting for those of us who are sick of the day to day grind of the 9 to 5 workdays. Go ahead, you deserve it. Take some vacation time! You won't regret the new experiences & things that you see & do.
p.s. that means you have to start a vacation fund.. ! It's never too late to start one!
Here is a list of TripAdvisor's top 25 places to go in the world. What do you think? have you been to any of them? Which ones would you want to go to?
